four >>mark: some good news, all lanes have been cleared on interstate 80. the sig alert has been cancelled and the chp has cleared the scene. dvina look at the back of on interstate 80 westbound. it was two hours 20 minutes that traffic was backed up with three of the available for lanes blocked. the only
reason the accident did not back up into vallejo was because so many people got word about the crash early on said they avoided interstate 80 and instead used the richmond parkway and san pablo avenue is and 680 and highway 24 where we have a much heavier than normal commute. the 24 ride is backed up nearly to walnut creek. that is where the traffic went to that would have otherwise been on the east shore freeway. because the east shore was so backed up it actually helped the commute at the bay bridge toll plaza where we have had no >> is altered. but it is possible that we could start to see a back up. i think because so much of the traffic from the macarthur maze and nimitz has already made it in, we could get by
without a backup but did not be surprised if during the next hour or two we start to see things get slow on the bay bridge for the first time this morning. >>james: joining us live is will trend. he is on the roads right now in richmond, what are you seeing on the roadway? >>will: the accident is cleared, right now i'm just east of hilltop drive. i shot this video may be 50 minutes ago, you can see how bad the traffic was at that time, it is even worse now even though the scene has been cleared. people are slowly trying to make their way into the traffic which i think it is causing more of a backup that it would normally be. instead of getting better, it is getting worse
